The passing of the incomparable Les Paul in August 2009 broke the hearts of guitar enthusiasts around the world. What can never be broken though, is the legacy of innovation and creativity that he built during 94 years of constant musicianship. Gibson were inspired to hand-craft a guitar just the way Les demanded it nearly 60 years ago.
Features include a golden mahogany body, maple top and rosewood fingerboard: All-new bridge that’s an exact replica of his original 1952 patent: historical details like stamping “prototype” into the back of the peg head; Gibson vintage wound P-90 pickups.
Based on the Original LP 1952 model, only 564 of these tributes prototypes were produced during 2009 with 6 guitars made for each year Les Paul lived- from 1915 to 2009. All are hand numbered this example being #1928F. Original 1952 LP’s were listed as prototypes so these are accurately stamped accordingly.
Overall Condition: Excellent with only very light signs of use. Original specification with no modification. Includes case and Black Book COA etc.
